Most often caffeine is found in beverages, but we find it in coco beans and many other plants. Cola nuts give Coca Cola its flavor. We also find Caffeine in medicines, used as a stimulant (Caffeine Confusion). Americans consume on average 300 mg of Caffeine a day. In a cup of Coffee there is 300mg of caffeine, this doesn't seem like that much but when we consider the fact that 10g of Caffeine can kill you, it is just enough (Britannica). Many people use caffeine to "wake up" in the morning, it is effective as a stimulant, however, studies have shown that it is addictive and can cause depression. People who drink it on a regular basis go through caffeine withdrawal if they don't get their daily fix. On the other hand caffeine is said to have many positive impacts on people as well. Caffeine can improve your memory, decrease fatigue, and improve your mental functioning. Moderate consumption shouldn't pose any health risks, or benefits (Doheny).
